Since 1982, Cheryl has established herself as a successful realtor in four states. After 10 years living in New Orleans and Slidell, Cheryl moved to northern Virginia to start her career with Merrill Lynch, then spent several years selling new construction in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. From 1988 to 2011, Cheryl lived in Sarasota, Florida, where she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Sarasota Association of Realtors and became known for her expertise, hard work, and community service. She returned to New Orleans with her daughter in 2011 and became a licensed broker/associate in Louisiana in 2012. Since then, Cheryl has quickly earned a reputation as a talented, dedicated, and reliable realtor. With over 30 years as a licensed realtor, Cheryl Timmins is one of the most experienced real estate agents in New Orleans.
Before and throughout her career in real estate, Cheryl has been committed to serving communities. Her first years in New Orleans were spent at Newcomb College and Tulane University, where she received a B.A. in psychology and a Master’s of Education in early childhood emotional disturbances. With these degrees, she became the educational director of a residential treatment program for emotionally disturbed boys. While living in Florida, Cheryl served as chair of the Sarasota County Education Committee, a member of the Education Committee of Florida State, a volunteer for the Holiday Project at various nursing homes, and co-founder of the Cuddler Program at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, which was created to provide needed care to newborns. In recognition of her service, Cheryl was nominated as Sarasota Woman of the Year and chosen to bear the Olympic Torch in Sarasota in 1996. Since then, Cheryl has continued to give back by donating a portion of every closing, as well as an annual holiday gift, to organizations chosen by her clients.
At home in New Orleans
Cheryl came to New Orleans as a college student and instantly fell in love with its eclectic culture and rich sense of community. After living in 5 states and visiting cities around the world, she decided there’s no other place like it on earth, and she moved back so that she could raise her child in a city as vibrant and diverse as their family. Today, Cheryl, her daughter Nola, and their labradoodle Sunny live in the neighborhood of City Park, just a few blocks from Bayou St. John. Outside of real estate, Cheryl spends her time enjoying everything the city has to offer — attending plays and poetry slams at local theaters, checking out the art at NOMA, the Ogden, and the Contemporary Arts Center, grabbing a bite at her favorite restaurants, and listening to the sound of the tugboats drifting in from the Mississippi River at night.
Denis is an advocate for his clients and is relentless in ensuring the best possible outcome in every transaction. For Denis, the opportunity to create connections with the multi-cultural population of New Orleans is what brings the joie de vivre to his practice of real estate. Born and raised in New Orleans and the surrounding area Denis left home upon joining the Army. He and his wife returned home to New Orleans in 2015 in order to create the space for his now six year old son to know what it means to be from the Crescent City.
Denis is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds a MS in Information Systems Management with 15 years of consulting experience. He brings the structure of this training and experience to the practice of real estate. What that means for his clients is the process of buying or selling a house is clearly delineated through the use of tools such as Gantt Charts, Work Flows and structured documentation of the stages of home buying and selling.
Denis enjoys coaching his son’s soccer team at the Fly and spending time with friends and family.
